The Hospital of Saint Raphael, a 511-bed community tertiary care academic health center and teaching hospital with an employee population of over 4,000 located in New Haven, CT has an opportunity for an APRN (Surgical) to join our Women's Center for Breast Health.

Under the supervision of the Chair of Surgery and the Director of the Women's Center for Breast Health, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and coordination of a comprehensive breast center; providing initial evaluations and follow-up care of patients under the supervision of the attending physician; developing treatment plans in consultation with the attending MD; and reviewing tests and data findings and ensuring timely follow-up of radiology, pathology, and other exams. Responsibilities also include assisting with patient navigation through the healthcare system; participating in and helping coordinate clinical research including recruitment for clinical trials; managing the center database; organizing monthly internal quality reports; reporting to the NAPBC semi-annually; and assisting in the organization of conferences, symposia, and community outreach programs.

Qualified candidate will have a Master's degree in nursing; RN Licensure; CPR and ACLS certification, along with the successful completion of an ANCC accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Advanced Practice Licensure in the State of Connecticut (APRN Licensure). Experience with the care of a surgical oncology patient within a comprehensive breast health center setting; familiarity with data base management, third party payer issues, pre and post operative care provision, and ongoing support of breast cancer patients; strong patient advocacy interest and customer service orientation; knowledge of and adherence to good infection control practices; knowledge of Microsoft Office Package including Word, Excel and Access; and competency in caring for patients regardless of age, disability, sexual preference, and ethnicity are required.
