Certification |
|
What is CBE Certification? CBE certification is the process by which the National Consortium of Breast Centers validates, based upon predetermined standards, a licensed breast health care provider’s knowledge in the performance of a clinical breast examination. The purpose is to assure the public that the certified licensed breast health care provider has completed the NCBC CBE course and has met minimum knowledge and performance standards by recognizing the individual who has met these standards. This certification is a validation of an individual’s knowledge in Clinical Breast Examination. Candidates who pass the CBEC™ may use the mark CBEC™ to verify they have met all eligibility and testing requirements. This may be used only while valid, after which time certification may be renewed. Certification Levels
There are three levels of Certification. Level III is achieved when a score of 85% or better is achieved on all three exams. This represents a CBE Certification. The certified individual is allowed to use the CBEC credential. Level II is achieved when a score of 85% or better is achieved on two of the three exams. This represents a partial CBE Certification and does not allow the professional to use the CBEC credentials. Level I is achieved when a score of 85% or better is achieved on one of the three exams. This also represents a partial CBE Certification and does not allow the professional to use the CBEC credentials. Certificates of Completion will be awarded to Level I and Level II graduates. Level III Graduates will be awarded a CBE Certification and a Certification Pin. All individuals graduating one or more tests will be posted on the NCBC web site.
